NOTE. — Gaudichaud (1830: 513) based his Laurea tiliifolia on “ Piper tiliaefolium Desvaux mss. in herb. Desf. Mus . In Guyanâ (Cayenne) Martin Ded.”. This is undoubtedly the type of Piper tiliifolium Desv. ex Ham. The latter name is thus the basionym of both L. tiliifolia and B. tiliifolia .
