Key to known Micrornebius from Singapore

It would not be surprising if more species of Micrornebius were discovered. This key should be used with that in mind.

1. Maxillary palps with segments truncated, more triangular than elongated ( Fig. 4 B). Female ovipositor with dorsal valves slightly shorter than ventral valves ( Fig. 4 E).................................................. M. distinctus sp. n.

- Maxillary palps with segments not truncated, more elongated than triangular ( Figs. 1 D, 3C). Female ovipositor with dorsal valves slightly longer than or as long as ventral valves ( Figs. 1 I, 3I).............................................. 2

2. Medial valves of male phallus elongated; lateral lobes of male phallus weakly sclerotized ( Figs. 1 F, 1G)................. 3

- Medial valves of male phallus stunted; lateral lobes of male phallus sclerotized, often into flattened plates ( Figs. 3 F, 3G)... 4

3. Maxillary palps with apical segment slightly shorter than third and fourth segments. PL/PW = 1.5–1.6; HFL/HTL = 1.5–1.6; HTL/HML = 1.8. Medial valves of male phallus mostly membranous, only base and apex sclerotized. Ovipositor with dorsal valve longer than ventral.............................................................. - Maxillary palps with apical segment as long as third and fourth segments ( Fig. 1 D). PL/PW = 1.7; HFL/HTL = 2.0; HTL/HML = 2.6. Medial valves of male phallus mostly sclerotized ( Figs. 1 F, 1G). Ovipositor with dorsal and ventral valves same length ( Fig. 1 I)................................................................................ M. eclipsus sp. n.

4. Maxillary palps with apical segment shorter than third and fourth segments. Male supra-anal plate distally emarginated medi-

ally and laterally; with long bristles at both lobes Medial valves of male phallus unbranched, tapering to a narrow apex; lateral lobes of male phallus bilobate....................................................... M. kopisua Tan & Ingrisch - Maxillary palps with apical segment longer than third and fourth segments ( Fig. 3 C). Male supra-anal plate with broadly rounded apical medial lobe, apically setose ( Figs. 3 D, 3E). Medial valves of male phallus with two branches, distal half of branch rod-shaped and apex bent; lateral lobes of male phallus with two forms of apical plates ( Figs. 3 F, 3G)..................................................................................................... M. mandai sp. n.
