Etymology: —The specific epithet “ ramiflorus ” means “branch-flowered” and apparently refers to the cauliflorous inflorescences described in the protologue ( Roxburgh 1820).

Vernacular names: —Vietnamese: Hổ bì (in the North), Tráng lá to, lý lãm hoa cành (in the South).
