Notes.

The orange section shaped to hemispherical ascospores makes this species distinct from others in the complex ( Ohtaka et al. 2002). This fungus was also reported associated with Dryocoetes hectographus on Abies veitchii in Japan based on morphology ( Ohtaka et al. 2002), but the identity of the Japanese isolates needs to be verified with DNA sequences.
