Bufotes variabilis (Pallas, 1769) Variable Toad View in CoL
This taxon has a complex nomenclatural history. It had long been regarded as a synonym of the taxon Bufo viridis Laurenti 1768 and allocated to the genus Bufo , but was then briefly assigned to Pseudepidalea before Bufotes was chosen for this group ( Frost et al. 2006; Dubois and Bour 2010; Frost 2013). The records from the area under study were undoubtedly recognized as belonging to this taxon, irrespective of the names used.
