GLAUCUS LINNAEUS OF CRAMER, 1777 View in CoL

Pap[ilio] Eq[ues] Achiv[us] glaucus, Cramer, 1777: 64 , 149, pl.139, figs A, B [original plate 104, figs B, B]. New York, Jamaica [latter in error]. (‘M.Houttuin... me l’a prêté pour le faire dessiner’ [Mr Houttuin... lent me this to make the design]).

Papilio Eques View in CoL Achivus glaucus, Stoll, 1782b: 3 [No. 23].

Material examined. 1 ♀, with van Lennep label ‘ No. 23. GLAUCUS . Cr. II.139. A. B. [+ Alcidamus ♀ added in pencil]’ ( BMNH (E)#665052) is not a very good match for original plate 104, figs B, B; it has been re-pinned and has minor repairs to the wings . 1 ♂ ( BMNH (E)#665053), ex Felder coll., no data, has been re-pinned and is a better match; it is possible that the van Lennep label came to be associated with the wrong specimen. There is also a possible Cramer specimen in RNHL .

Identity. Papilio (Pterourus) glaucus Linnaeus, 1758 .
