Remarks. This is a leafminer of Mallotus japonicus Muell. (Euphorbiaceae) in Japan. This species is distinctive in having the reclinate ors and ori, entirely brown halter, and yellowish brown tarsi. The male genitalia of this species are similar to those of J. involuta , but differs distinctly from that in the following points: surstylus bears a stout apical spine; a membranous process on the left basiphallic sclerite is distinctly longer, bifurcate distally, and spinule-ringed before the pointed apex, the distiphallic bulbs are smaller, surrounded by several rows of spinules; the ejaculatory apodeme is smaller (315 µm long, 115 µm wide) ( Sasakawa 1972: Fig. 4).
