TYPE MATERIAL. — Holotype (dd) MNHN 20142 View Materials and 2 paratypes (dd) MNHN 20143 View Materials .

TYPE LOCALITY. — Norfolk Ridge, Banc Jumeau Ouest, 23°22’S, 168°01’E, 381-469 m, [BATHUS 3: stn DW 827] GoogleMaps .

MATERIAL EXAMINED. — Only known from the type material.

DISTRIBUTION. — Norfolk Ridge , known only from the type locality, shells in 381-469 m.

DESCRIPTION. — Shell up to 8.1 mm long, shiny, translucent when fresh, white when dead. Maximum diameter at 2/5 of the shell length from the mouth. Ventral side regularly curved; dorsal side sligthly sigmoidal between the maximum diameter and the mouth. Apex dorsoventrally depressed, with 2 short lateral notches forming flat ventral and dorsal lobes; ventral lobe with central denticle at edge. Preapical callus wide with short, irregular, longitudinal undulations in internal wall of shell on dorsal side. Caudal section long. Lumen suboval. Mouth simple, oblique, slightly dorsoventrally compressed.

REMARKS. — Gadila delphinae is similar to Cadulus (= Gadila ) whitneyae Lamprell & Healy, 1998, from northern Australia, in general profile, but the latter is considerably smaller, less curved, has the maximum diameter centrally and apex circular and simple.
