Material examined. PG: 2 males, 3 ovig. females ( ZUTC 6694 ), Hormuz I., in muddy bottoms, Coll. S. Ebrahimnezhad and A. Dehghani, 10 Oct. 2017 ; GO: 2 males, 1 female ( ZUTC 6695 ), Chabahar Bay , Tis, in muddy bottoms, Coll. A. Dehghani, 2 Oct. 2016 ; 1 males ( SMF 51386), Chabahar Bay , Tis, in muddy bottoms, Coll. A. Dehghani, 2 Oct. 2016 .

Distribution. Indo-West Pacific and Mediterranean: from South Africa, to Red Sea, PG, GO, Japan, Australia, Hawaii, and eastern Mediterranean Sea.

Regional records. PG and GO: Iran (present study).

Habitat. Burrows in muddy bottoms, apparently often associated with gobies ( Anker & De Grave, 2016).

Remark. Our specimens all agreed well with Banner & Banner’s (1982) illustrations and exhibit the following distinctive morphological characters: 1) Second segment of antennular peduncle three times as long as third, 2) Major chela compressed and elongated and 3) Fingers of small chela about twice as long as palm.
