Gansuapteris fulvus Ruan and Konstantinov , new species

( Figs 1–3 View FIGURE 1 View FIGURE 2 View FIGURE 3 )

Etymology. This new species is named after its body color. Distribution. China.

Host plant. Unknown.

Description. Dorsum and venter yellow brown. Body length: 1.70 mm; width (widest point of elytra): 1.10 mm. Pronotum width to length ratio: 1.40. Pronotum width at base to width at apex ratio: 1.01. Elytron length (measured along suture) to width of both ratio: 1.08. Length of elytron to length of pronotum ratio: 2.65. Width of elytra at base (measured across middle of humeral calli) to width of pronotum at base ratio: 1.20.

Vertex shiny, frons with 15–17 small punctures bearing long and white setae. Supraorbital and orbital sulci moderately developed. Orbit wide, about 1.5 times diameter of antennal socket. Proportionate length of antennomeres 1 to 11: 1.00–1.08, 0.69–0.74, 0.49–0.54, 0.54–0.58, 0.65–0.68, 0.62–0.66, 0.71–0.75, 0.66–0.69, 0.68–0.70, 0.72–0.73, 1.14–1.18. Length to width ratio of antennomeres 1 to 11: 2.60–2.80, 1.96–2.09, 1.68–1.84, 1.59–1.73, 1.68–1.76, 1.74–1.87, 1.77–1.88, 1.65–1.73, 1.48–1.54, 1.56–1.60, 2.39–2.48.

Elytral surface even, without ridges. Length of metafemur (excluding trochanter) to maximum width ratio: 2.40. Length to width of metatibia in lateral view ratio: 5.70. Width of metatibia at base to width at apex in dorsal view ratio: 0.60. Length of metatibia to length of first metatarsomere ratio: 2.40. Length of metafemur to metatibia ratio: 1.25. Length of first metatarsomere to length of second metatarsomere ratio: 2.10. Last visible tergite nearly as wide as long.

Receptacle of spermatheca a little longer than twice its width, widest in middle, with convex inner side, and concave outer side. Pump shorter than receptacle, curved, apex forms a sclerotized cap with a blunt appendix. Spermathecal duct twisted, forms S-curve towards receptacle. Vaginal palpi narrowed from proximal region to distal 1/3, then a little widening towards apex; lateral unsclerotized area longer than distal or proximal sclerotization separately; distal sclerotization narrower and darker than proximal.

Male. Unknown.

Type. Holotype, female. Labels : 1) CHINA, SE Gansu, S. Wushan, 2753 m, 16.VI.2005, N34°30.18' E104°50.34', Belousov and Kabak leg. 2) Holotype. 3) Gansuapteris fulvus n. sp. des. Ruan and Konstantinov, 2016 ( IZCAS). GoogleMaps
