The montana species-group

The group comprises 4 species. It is characterised by the following 6 character states; apomorphic character states marked by (apo.):

- valve broad at apex (apo.);

- digitus prominent, asymmetrical; right digitus short and stout (apo.);

- small costal process at base of digitus;

- juxta with a prominent ventral mushroom-like process; higher than wide (apo.).

- anellus fused with juxta.

- phallus swollen medially (apo.); and

- 7 th abdominal segment of female with hollow flaps anteriorly.
