Material examined.

Holotype: female, Philippines, Palawan, Mantalin ajan, Pinigisan , 600 m, caught in Malaise-trap inside forest, 10.ix.1961, leg. Noona Dan. Exp. 1961-62, genit. prep. 3540 M. Fibiger. Coll. ZMUC.

Diagnosis.

Wingspan: 11 mm.

Forewing: narrow, blackish brown.

Transverse lines: black; terminal line marked by black dots between veins.

Reniform: distinct, whitish grey, outlined by black.

Hindwing: unicolorous brown with an indistinct black discal spot.

Underside: unicolorous brown.

Female genitalia.

6 th and 7 th segments: fused together.

7 th abdominal segment: heavily sclerotised; asymmetrical.

Anterior apophyses: length 1½ of posterior apophyses.

Position of ostium bursae: on anterior margin of 7 th segment close to 6 th segment, slightly displaced to left. Antrum: straight and very long except for one basal coil; moderately sclerotised.

Ductus bursae: membranous, with basal coil; short, 1½ X longer than corpus bursae.

Corpus bursae: globular.

Appendix bursae: arising anteriorly from ductus bursae immediately after antrum.

Differential diagnosis.

P. lafontainei differs from other species by the basal coil in both the antrum and the ductus bursae.
