Mecyna lutealis (Duponchel, [1833]) View in CoL View at ENA
Material examined. Russia: 1 ♁, Talgi , 23.v.2022 .
Remarks. From Russia, M. lutealis is known from the South Urals ( Tsvetkov 2016).
Distribution. North Africa, South Europe, Turkey, Northeast Caucasus (Dagestan), South Urals ( Slamka 2013; Tsvetkov 2016).
Mecyna lutulentalis ( Lederer, 1858) *
( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 )
Material examined. Russia: 1 ♁, Muni , 3.vi.2022 .
Comparative material. Mecyna subsequalis (Herrich-Schäffer, [1855]) , Russia: 3 ♁, 4 ♀, Muni, 2, 3.vi.2022 ; 1 ♀, Datuna, 8.vi.2022.
Remarks. The status of Mecyna lutulentalis ( Lederer, 1858) is questionable. This taxon may refer to a form of M. subsequalis , showing no genitalic differences from the latter species. Slamka (2013) supposed that lutulentalis is a subspecies of M. subsequalis . However, near the village Muni ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1–4 ), we collected several specimens of M. subsequalis and a specimen of typical appearance of M. lutulentalis ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 ).
Distribution. Syria, Lebanon, Georgia, Northeast Caucasus (Dagestan) (Amsel 1959; Slamka 2013).
