Genus Ischnothyreus Simon, 1893 View in CoL View at ENA
Remarks. Currently, Ischnothyreus includes 124 species, most of which have been recorded from tropical regions in East to Southeast Asia, and Australia ( World Spider Catalog 2023). The genus was established based on the type species I. peltifer from St. Vincent ( Simon 1893). The genus is characterized by small- or intermediate- sized scutum on the dorsum of abdomen that rarely cover the entire abdomen, dark colored and sclerotized palp, and the absence of scutum between the epigastric region and spinnerets ( Saaristo 2001; Saaristo 2010; Ono 2009; Brescovit et al. 2019).
