Genus Gamasomorpha Karsh, 1881 View in CoL View at ENA
Remarks. Gamasomorpha currently includes 48 species, most of which have been recorded from East Asia to Southeast Asia ( World Spider Catalog 2023). This genus was established by Karsh based on the type species G. cataphracta collected from Japan. Spiders of this genus possess well-developed scutum on the dorsum of abdomen. The genital morphology of Gamasomorpha is similar to that of Xestaspis Simon, 1884 ( Brescovit et al. 2019; Ott & Harvey 2008). For details of the morphological differences between Gamasomorpha and Xestaspis , see the Xestaspis section.
