Names.

English: catbrier, greenbrier.

Range.

Southern Europe to Asia in the Himalayas. In Myanmar, found in Chin, Kachin, and Shan.

Uses.

Root: Used as an emetic and diaphoretic.

Note.

In India the root is used on skin eruptions; also as a substitute for Indian sarsaparilla ( Hemidesmus sp.) ( Jain and DeFilipps 1991).
