Geographical distribution: endemic to the Neotropical region, occurring from Mexico to Venezuela. Material from Cuba: Santiago de Cuba, Río Indio, Gran Piedra, 26.III.1973, Cuban-Romanian Biospeological Expedition leg., 4 ɗ 2 Ψ (SDH, SIB) ( Nieser 1977).

Habitat: collected in Cuba only in high altitude streams.
