Material examined. CHINA, Tianjin: 1♀, Mt. Jiulong , Ji County, 27.VI.2004, leg. HH Li et al., slide No. ZL 08210 .

Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 17 ). Wingspan 21.0 mm. Agonopterix arenella is distinguishable by the distally expanded cuiller in the male genitalia and by the sub-rhombic signum in the female genitalia ( Figs 49, 49a ). It is similar to A. pallorella ( Zeller, 1839) in the male genitalia, and can be distinguished by the distally dilated cuiller rounded at apex and the ventral margin of the valva straight before apex (Huisman 2012: 80, fig. 31). In A. pallorella , the distally expanded cuiller is obliquely truncate at apex and the ventral margin of the valva is concave before apex ( Buchner 2017a: 12, fig. 21).

Distribution. China ( Tianjin), Europe, Russica, North Africa ( Lvovsky 2001a; Lvovsky 2006; Lvovsky 2008).
