Holotype: ♂ PAPUA NEW GUINEA, Milne Bay Prov., Woodlark Island, Suloga Peninsula, stream entering W. side of Suloga Harbor , headwater reach, 180 m. a.s.l., 9°12’22”S, 152°42’29”E (-9.206000, 152.708111), water temp. 27°C., 07:30–15:30 hrs., 24.I.2003, CL 7217, D.A. Polhemus ( BPBM). GoogleMaps

Etymology. The name “muyuw” is a noun in apposition, and refers to the native Melanesian name for Woodlark Island.
