Afissa galerucinoides (Korschefsky) stat. rev.

Epilachna (Solanophila) galerucinoides Korschefsky, 1934: 107 .

Afissa galerucinoides (Korschefsky) : Bielawski 1959: 153 –154; 1962: 193.

Epilachna galerucinoides Korschefsky : Hoàng 1977: 134; Li, 1993: 222; Jadwiszczak & Węgrzynowicz 2003: 68; Ślipiński 2007: 184; Ren et al. 2009: 276–277.

Remarks. Epilachna galerucinoides was originally described in the genus Epilachna Chevrolat, 1837 by Korschefsky (1934). Bielawski (1959) drew male and female genitalia and transferred this species into the genus Afissa Dieke, 1947 . Subsequently Hoàng put it once again in the genus Epilachna , and that placement was followed by other authors ( Li 1993, Jadwiszczak & Węgrzynowicz 2003). After recent molecular and morphological analyses, the genus Afissa was resurrected ( Szawaryn et al. 2015, Tomaszewska & Szawaryn 2016). External morphological characters (elongate antennae, mandibular incisor edge without teeth, bifid tarsal claw) as well as male (penis and tegmen in shape of the Afissa flavicollis group) and female (elongated, subtriangular coxites) genital characters (see Bielawski 1959: 154; Ren et al. 2009: 277) justify placement of E. galerucinoides in the genus Afissa Dieke.
