Monopelopia tenuicalcar (Kieffer, 1918) adults were collected by Bowser et al. (2020) in a wooded area near Headquarters Lake, Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. Marshes associated with the lake are a typical habitat for this species. The pupal stage of a possible new species was collected from a small first-order stream draining the hillside on Point Lena Loop Road. Although this habitat seems unusual for the larvae, slow-flowing ditches associated with a road are connected to this stream.
