Type locality. Brazil, Pará, Santarém.

Remarks. This is a widespread species that is often common in collections. The claspers diverge laterally from their base and form a claw-like terminus. The basal pygofer lobes are reduced.

Distribution. The species has an expansive distribution over much of South America. It is currently known from Brazil, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela ( Metcalf 1963; Sanborn 2013) and was recently recorded from Argentina ( Sanborn & Heath 2014). The distribution of the species is expanded here to included Ecuador and Bolivia. The previous reports from Peru by Jacobi (1951) are from localities north and west of the area where T. attiguclava n. sp. was collected so they do not appear to be misidentifications. The specimens listed as T. hastifera by Pogue (1996) are considered to be T. attiguclava n. sp. as discussed previously.
