Remarks.

Papp (1953b) gave Melanopsis bouei spinosa Handmann, 1882 and Melanopsis bouei ventricosa Handmann, 1882 in synonymy of Melanopsis rarispina , although both were published earlier. The name ventricosa Handmann is a junior homonym of Melanopsis ventricosa Neumayr, 1880 and thus invalid, but spinosa is available and has priority over rarispina .
