Lectotype (Brodie & Irvine in Spencer & al. in Taxon, in press): [icon] " Tremella marina fasciata " in Dillenius, Hist. Musc.: 46, t. 9, f. 6. 1741. - Voucher: Herb. Dillenius ( OXF) .

Current name: Ulva linza L. ( Ulvaceae ).

Note: Although Hayden & al. (in Europ. J. Phycol. 38: 289. 2003) indicated the cited Dillenian figure as the lectotype (following a ms. note by Irvine) and material in Herb. Gronovius ( OXF) as an epitype, this statement was published after 1 January 2001 and so the omission of the phrase "designated here" or an equivalent (Art. 7.11) means that it was not effective.
