Diagnosis. Length 1.6–2.0 mm. Body ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 E) reddish brown to dark brown; head and abdomen slightly darker than other parts. Head. Slightly transverse, approximately 1.2 times as wide as long, widest across eyes, narrower than pronotum; eyes moderate in size and slightly prominent, about 1.0–1.2 times as long as temples; infraorbital carina complete. Antennae slightly longer than head and pronotum combined; antennomeres 1–3 elongate, 4 about as long as wide, 5–10 subquadrate to slightly transverse, 11 longest, slightly longer than preceding two combined. Thorax. Pronotum approximately 1.3 times as wide as long, widest at middle; hypomera partially visible in lateral aspect. Elytra slightly transverse, slightly wider than pronotum; elytron approximately 1.7 times as long as wide, postero-lateral margin almost straight. Abdomen. Subparallel-sided, widest at middle; surface densely pubescent, with coarse punctures; macrochaetal arrangement of tergites II–VI 01-03-23 -23-23; male tergite VIII with four macrosetae on each side of midline, posterior margin with four short processes pointed apically; posterior margin of male sternite VIII broadly rounded. Aedeagus. Median lobe elongate and narrow apically in ventral aspect.

Type material. Syntypes, 2 exx., labeled as follows: ‘5477, nigra Kraatz Berol. ’.

Material examined. NORTH KOREA: 3♂♂ , Corea sept 1987 Hyjćhon and vicin. Exped. ISEZ Cr . [ North Korea, Jagang Prov., Huicheon-si , 1987, ISEA] ; 5♂♂, Korea 12.6.1974 Vaudo ad Nampho Exp. Inst.Zool.Cr. [ North Korea, Pyeongannam Prov. , Nampo-si , Waudo , 12 vi 1974, ISEA] . Paratypes, 1♂ 1♀ same data as holotype.

Distribution. Korea (North), China (Yunnan), Canary Islands, Russia (Central European Territory, North European Territory), Kazakhstan and Europe.

Remarks. Atheta (Datomicra) nigra is similar to A. (D.) celata , A. (D.), dadopora and A. (D.) nigra , but can be distinguished by the characters provided in the key and different shape and structure of aedeagus and spermatheca. This species was recorded by Paśnik (2001) in North Korea and no specimen has been collected in South Korea.
