Type locality.
Australia, New South Wales, from stomach of a jackass morwong (tarakihi), Nemadactylus macropterus (Forster, 1801), 73-183 m depth.
Depth range.
73-620 m ( Lowry and Stoddart 1989).
Distribution.
Australia: North-east of Rowley Shoals, Western Australia; Lady Elliot Island, Queensland, to off Wollongong, New South Wales ( Lowry and Stoddart 1989, this study).
Ecology.
Taken in baited traps (this study). Also recorded feeding on dead spatangoids, Taimanawa mortenseni Henderson & Fell, 1969 ( Lowry and Stoddart 1989).
