Specimens examined. JAPAN. 1 ♂, Yamanashi, leg. K. Yazaki (CKY) ; 1 ♀, Hyogo, leg. K. Yazaki (CKY) ; 1 ♂, Kagoshima Pref., Terayama, Yoshino-cho, Kagoshima-shi , 18–IV–1996, leg. T. Fukuda (CHN).

Taxonomic notes. Prout (1937; 1940) described three more subspecies from China, Japan and Korea, however Choi (2001) synonymized all subspecies, a decision followed by Nakajima and Yazaki (2011).

Diagnosis. This species has a close affinity to L. porphyriata ( Figs 15 View FIGURES 1–15 , 23 View FIGURES 16–23 , 31 View FIGURES 24–31 ) based on its appearance and genitalia but can be distinguished by the black discoidal spot rather than indistinct; the sinuous postmedial line from median part to inner margin of the forewing; the subscaphium slightly sclerotized rather than a pair of sclerotized bands; and well-separated bilobed anellus laterally rather than slightly bilobed. Both of these two species, as well as L. complicata , have a long hair pencil under the forewing.

Distribution and bionomics. India, China (Sichuan), Japan, Korea ( Choi 2012).
