Hydroides alatalateralis ( Jones, 1962) View in CoL

( Figure 6A)

Eupomatus alatalateralis Jones, 1962: 205–207 View in CoL , figs. 139–146. Type locality: Port Royal , Jamaica.

Hydroides alatalateralis View in CoL .— Bastida-Zavala and ten Hove, 2003b: 71–72, figs. 2H–I (revision of the genus from Eastern Pacific).

Diagnosis. For a revised description see Bastida-Zavala and ten Hove (2003b).

Habitat. Laverde-Castillo (1988: 88) collected the specimen in a brackish-water bay (18–23‰), between 1–10 m, on rocks.

Distribution. Amphi-American. Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico; Colombian Pacific (Bastida-Zavala & ten Hove 2003a-b).

Remarks. Hydroides alatalateralis was described from Jamaica, and specimens in the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico were collected mainly in marine habitats; however, some records from Curaçao are from mangrove roots, probably brackish-waters ( Bastida-Zavala & ten Hove 2003a).
