Jermë (39°49.671 ʹ N, 20°06.872 ʹ E, 56 m above sea level (a.s.l)), 3 May 2010, 1 pregnant ♀ and 1♂ ad. harp-trapped inside abandoned military tunnels. In total, 5–10 individuals were observed near a colony of R. euryale . These records demonstrate that R. mehelyi is a breeding species in Albania.

This is the only known locality of this rarely recorded species in the western Balkans north of central Greece ( Hanák et al. 2001). Eastwards, the nearest known localities are in eastern Serbia ( Paunović et al. 1998) and northern Macedonia ( Kryštufek et al. 1992).
