Most chlopsid leptocephali collected in the present study were represented by the species K. hyoproroides during the spring and winter. It was distributed from the south region of Bahia State to Rio de Janeiro State, including some seamounts of the Vitória-Trindade Ridge (Figure 12). Pigment scattered over the entire body and on upper and lower jaws are characteristics of this species.
