Type Locality: México, Guerrero, mountains near Chilpancingo, 9700 ft (2957 m).

Vernacular Names: Thomas' Big-toothed Deermouse.

Distribution: High Sierra Madre del Sur of Guerrero, México.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Formerly encompassed cryophilus and nelsoni as subspecies ( Musser, 1964); see above accounts.
