Distocyclus conirostris ( Eigenmann, Allen, 1942) View in CoL

Eigenmannia conirostris Eigenmann, Allen, 1942: 316 View in CoL , pl. 16 (figs. 2, 5). Type locality: Iquitos [ Peru]. Holotype and Paratypes (5): CAS 41753 (3), USNM 323935 About USNM (1). A holotype was distinguished from paratypes in the original description only by length (300 mm) and numerous body measurements. Of the five original specimens (270-346 mm), none of the four examined by Dutra et al. (2014) fit the stated size of the holotype. The fifth specimen, which thus appears to be the holotype, is unaccounted for.

Distribution: Broadly distributed in the Amazon, Orinoco and Essequibo basins ( Dutra et al., 2014).
