Description. Aedeagus concave and wide, sides parallel; apico-lateral angles obtusely angulate, wide in lateral view, bases of apico-lateral angles moderately arcuate; middle of apical margin with a long, broad tube-like process, slender in lateral view, apex deeply and medially depressed; dorsal process subapically and strongly curved in lateral view, but slightly widened in dorsal view, apex pointed in dorsal and lateral views ( Figs. 9 View FIGURES 9 C–9D). Ventrite V ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 9 F) not modified in female, apical margin slightly sinuate. Gonocoxae reduced. Ventrite VIII ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 9 H) heart-shaped, with extremely short spiculum, with sparse, elongate setae along apical margins of triangulate processes. Tergite VIII ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 9 G) with apex pointed, with sparse setae on disc. Receptacle of spermatheca ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 9 I) weakly swollen, barely separated from pump, pump much narrower and longer, sharply curved; proximal spermathecal duct short and broad.

Diagnosis. Siemssenius rufipennis can be separated from other members of the species group by the combination of the following characters: the moderately arcuate bases of apico-lateral angles (smooth bases in S. jungchani sp. nov. ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 7 A) and S. yuae sp. nov. ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 11 A); sharply arcuate bases in S. tsoui sp. nov. ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 10 A)) and long median tube-like process of the apical margin (extremely short process in S. liui sp. nov. ( Figs 8 View FIGURES 8 A–8B)) of the aedeagus ( Figs 9 View FIGURES 9 A–9B).

Host plants. Lonicera acuminata Wall., 1832 (Caprifoliaceae) ; Hypericum nagasawae Hayata, 1911 (Guttiferae) .

Distribution. Widespread in central Taiwan (Chiayi, Hualien, Nantou, and Taichung conties) ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ).
