Published misidentifications, pointed out by Flint (2013): 131, as follows: Panorpa insolens described by Byers 1973: 372 (♂ description), fig 18 (♂ genital bulb) represented a separate un-named species, now called Panorpa rosemaria Bicha & Schiff 2019 .
Panorpa helena Byers 1962a: 474 View in CoL in part, material from KS, OH, KY may be insolens View in CoL or rosemaria View in CoL .
Panorpa helena Webb et al. 1975: 302 View in CoL (♂ description), fig 81 (forewing), 126–27 (♂ genitalia), fig 157 (♀ genital plate) represent insolens View in CoL .
