Diagnosis of male. The male of this species is easily distinguished from other males of Arachnospila (Ammosphex) abnormis -species group (hypopygium ventro-preapically with tuft of long erect setae medially) by having one row of bristles (not setae) on the hypopygium baso-laterally ( Figs 3, 4 View FIGURES 1 – 19 vs. 1, 2, 5–12). Diagnosis of female. The female of this species is very similar to that of Arachnospila (Ammosphex) kuwayamai ( Ishikawa, 1966) by having apical spine of first protarsomere more than 0.5 of protarsomere 2 in length, by shiny frons, by ratio of first flagellomere length to its width 3.2–3.9, by protarsomere 1 with three spines, but clearly differs by having curved 2rs-m vein of fore wing (Fig. 95 vs. 106). Distribution. Biology. Nests in natural cavities in the ground, sometimes females excavate short tunnels ending in a single cell ( WiŠniowski 2009).

The cleptoparasites of Arachnospila (Ammosphex) abnormis are pompilids: Evagetes sahlbergi (Dahlbom) and E. siculus (Lepeletier) (v.d. Smissen 2003).
