Type genus. Caribboecetes Just, 1983

Diagnosis. Siphonoecetini with or without rostrum; antenna 2 flagellum with 2 robust setae on article 3, 1 distal robust seta on article 2, none on article 1 ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 Ea); gnathopod 2 propodus oval to nearly simple with row of robust setae along posterior margin ( Fig. 2 C View FIGURE 2 4 c View FIGURE 4 1 View FIGURE 1 ) (modified subchelate in Concholestes ); coxal plates 3 and 4 with short, pectinate setae in indentations along anterior and distal margins ( Fig. 3 A View FIGURE 3 2 View FIGURE 2 ); pereopods 5–6 carpus apex and lateral surface with a few to many equal siZed peg-like robust setae ( Fig. 3 B View FIGURE 3 2 View FIGURE 2 ); unguis of pereopods 5–7 without accessory claw (except Polynesoecetes ) ( Fig. 3 B View FIGURE 3 2 View FIGURE 2 ); uropod 1 inner ramus less than ½ length of outer ramus, flat (except elongate, cylindrical in Concholestes ) ( Fig. 3 C View FIGURE 3 4 View FIGURE 4 ); uropod 2 absent; uropod 3 without ramus (except small, single ramus in Africoecetes armatus ); telson rounded triangular, fused with dorsally visible urosomite 3 ( Fig. 3 C View FIGURE 3 4 View FIGURE 4 ).
