Epsilon de Saussure 1855: 229 View in CoL , 252, name for division III of subgenus Leionotus de Saussure View in CoL of genus Odynerus Latreille in de Saussure 1852: 169 View in CoL . Type species: Odynerus dyscherus de Saussure, 1852 , by subsequent designation ( van der Vecht 1967: 31).

Diagnosis. Mandibles stout, as long as clypeus, distinctly cross each other. Clypeus much wider than long, smooth, usually apically emarginate, sometimes truncate. Female with cephalic fovea present. Vertex sloping behind ocelli. Anterior face of pronotum with group of transverse striations medially, without foveae. Pronotal carina usually complete. Mesepisternum with epicnemial carina present. Pretegular carina well developed. Tegula as wide as long, not evenly rounded posteriorly, emarginate adjoining parategula and equaling parategula posteriorly. Mesoscutum and scutellum extensively punctate, without prescutal furrows. Axillary fossa narrower than long. Metanotum narrow, non-dentiform and angled, with little dorsal horizontal face and flat posterior vertical face. Propodeum short, devoid of superior carina. Propodeum not raised shelflike to same level as metanotum. Propodeal orifice wide dorsally. Propodeum with submarginal carina projecting as rounded lobe above valvula, valvula separated from submarginal carina posteriorly. T1 sessile, in dorsal view wider than long, about as wide as T2, not carinate. T2 with apical lamellae. Mid tibia with one apical spur. SMC2 basally acute, with second recurrent vein nearly or completely interstitial with SMC3 ( Fig. 63 View FIGURES 55 – 63 ). Prestigma equals to half length of pterostigma. ♂: F11 hook like, acute apically. Body length usually 10–12 mm.
