Geographic distribution: Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Central African Republic, People`s Republic of Congo, Angola, Sudan and Uganda.

Remarks: A species with a scattered distribution throughout western and central Africa. It is a common species in Guinea-Bissau, the country from where it was described by Guérin-Méneville (1849). Adults are active at the edges of small ponds, sometimes together with Cylindera octoguttata (Fabricius) , Myriochila flavidens (Guérin-Méneville) and Myriochila melancholica (Fabricius) . In rare occasions individuals can be attracted to light ( Serrano 1997).
