Stultutragus endoluteus View in CoL sp. nov.

( Figs 8–9 View FIGURES 1 – 9. 1 – 2 )

Etymology. Refers to the surrounded yellow areas of the elytra.

Differential diagnosis. Stultutragus endoluteus sp. nov. ( Figs 8–9 View FIGURES 1 – 9. 1 – 2 ) differs from S. nigricornis : pronotum with a single, large, cordiform black macula; anterior elytral yellowish area involved by the dark area; mesofemurs narrow; black area of the mesofemur reaching the lateral regions only apically; black area of the metafemur more apical. In S. nigricornis ( Figs 5–6 View FIGURES 1 – 9. 1 – 2 ) the pronotum shows two small black maculae (sometimes fused or absent), anterior elytral yellowish area not involved by the dark area, the mesofemurs are wider, the black area of the mesofemur reaches the lateral regions about the middle of the club, and the black area of the metafemur is distinctly larger. It differs from S. fenestratus , mainly, by the black macula of the pronotum cordiform, and by the black area of meso– and metafemurs smaller. In S. fenestratus the black macula of the pronotum and the femoral color pattern is as in S. poecilus ( Figs 3–4 View FIGURES 1 – 9. 1 – 2 ).

Male ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 1 – 9. 1 – 2 ). Integument yellowish. The following black: head; scape, pedicel, antennomeres III–VI (the last slightly lighter on base); apical three fourths of antennomeres VII–XI; large, cordiform black macula on pronotum, placed around middle; scutellum; basal two thirds of elytra, except a inverted cordiform yellow area; all apical forth of elytra; metepisternae; sub-triangular area (as a right triangle) on lateral of metasternum, starting before middle and fused in the area of metasternal suture; urosternite III; outer lateral surface of the projection of urosternite V; longitudinal band on dorsal surface of the club of profemurs; longitudinal band on dorsal surface of the club of mesofemurs, that reaches the lateral area close to the apex; apical half of the club of metafemurs; dorsal and lateral surfaces of protibiae; meso- and metatibiae; tarsi.

Rostrum as long as half width of a lower ocular lobe. Distance between lower ocular lobes equal to 0.05 times the width of a lobe; distance between upper ocular lobes equal to 1.7 times the width of a lobe. Antennal length equal to 1.1 times the elytral length.

Pronotum coarsely, anastomosedly punctate; pilosity moderately long and sparse; anterior margin preceded by narrow furrow. Lateral projections of the urosternite V, wide and elevated. Apex of metafemurs reaches the apical seventh of elytra. Metatarsomere I ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 1 – 9. 1 – 2 ) distinctly longer than II–III together.

Dimensions in mm (male). Total length, 8.2; prothorax: length, 1.8; anterior width, 1.2; posterior width, 1.3; humeral width, 1.6; elytral length, 5.4.

Type material. Holotype male from BRAZIL, Bahia: Encruzilhada (15º32’25”S; 40º50’12”W; 800 m; in Malaise trap), 10–12.XII.2007, J. A. Rafael, P. C. Grossi & D. R. Parizotto col. ( INPA).
