Type data: This species was described based in two males collected by Schrottky in Jundiaí, Brazil. One male was found at ZMB being here designated the lectotype. The specimen has the following data label: Brasil Jundiahy 1899 Schrottky [printed] 17.II- [handwritten in red]\ [?] [handwritten in red]\ Centris pauloensis Fr. ♂ [handwritten] 1900 Friese det. Type locality: Brazil: São Paulo state: Jundiaí (“Jundiahy”) .

Comment: The holotype is a male of C. xanthocnemis with yellowish pubescence on some terga.
