( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 )

Zaglyptus nigrolineatus Gupta, 1961 . Indian J. Entomol. 22 (1960): 255. Holotype: ♀, India: Cherangode (CNC).

Diagnosis. Face yellow, as long as wide, with minute and shallow punctures; anterior 0.35 of submetapleural carina present; metasomal tergites each with basal and smooth apical black band; swellings on tergites punctate; ovipositor straight, 1.6x hind tibia.

Description of specimen from Vietnam (Female) ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ). Head. Antenna with more than 23 flagellomeres (some apical flagellomeres missing), first flagellomere 1.55x second; diameter of lateral ocellus equal to ocellarocular distance; frons and hind side of vertex subpolished, sparsely setose; inner margins of eyes weakly concave opposite antennal sockets, slightly convergent ventrally; face as long as wide, with small punctures, pubescent, upper margin broadly concave between antennal sockets; clypeus about 0.5x as high as wide; malar space about 0.3x basal width of mandible; occipital carina meeting hypostomal carina at about 0.8x basal mandible width from base of mandible.

Mesosoma . Epomia curved ventrally; pronotum polished and impunctate; mesoscutum 1.3x as long as wide at anterior level of tegulae, pubescent, notauli impressed, convergent at posterior 0.4 of mesoscutum in shallow hollow; scutellum strongly convex, pubescent, lateral carina present at base; mesopleuron pubescent, epicnemial carina present on lower 0.6 of mesopleuron, lateral section of postpectal carina present as short stub in front of mid coxa; metapleuron polished, anterior 0.35 of submetapleural carina present; propodeum pubescent, without carinae, with mediobasal hollow; propodeal spiracle round, not touching pleural carina. Fore femur 5.2x as long as wide; hind leg with femur 4.7x as long as wide, length 0.75x tibia, tibia 8.5x as long as apical width; basitarsus 0.45x length of tibia, 0.5x tarsus, 2.8x second tarsomere, fifth tarsomere 2.0x third, hind tibia slightly swollen subbasally. Fore wing with vein Rs & M opposite cu-a, 2 rs-m about 0.5x distance between 2 rs-m and 2 m-cu, vein cu-a nearly straight, vein Cu 1 a separated from 1 m-cu by 0.65x length of vein Cu 1 b; hind wing with vein M+Cu moderately bowed posteriorly, first abscissa of vein Cu 1 about 0.9x length of vein cu-a; distal abscissa of vein Cu 1 present.

Metasoma. Tergites coarsely punctate, except transverse smooth bands apically; first tergite nearly as long as apical width, dorsolateral carina present from base to spiracle, median longitudinal carina basally present, apical oblique groove broad; second tergite 0.8x length of first tergite, 0.6x as long as apical width, basal and apical oblique grooves deep, rhombic area moderately convex; third tergite slightly shorter than second; tergites 2–6 each with a pair of lateral punctate swellings, ovipositor straight, depressed at tip, 1.6x as long as hind tibia.

Colour. Yellow. Subapical, swollen part of mandible and small area below ocelli black; mesoscutum with a stripe on median lobe, two long stripes on lateral lobes and a spot in front of scutellum black; propodeum with basal and apical black marks; hind tibia with subbasal and apical black bands, hind basitarsus with blackish apical band; wings hyaline, pterostigma and veins brown, except costa yellow; metasomal tergites with basal transverse stripes and apical smooth transverse bands black; ovipositor reddish brown, ovipositor sheath black and hairy.

Distribution. Previously recorded from India ( Yu et al. 2012). This is the first record of Z. nigrolineatus from Vietnam ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ).

Remarks. The specimen from Vietnam has less extensive black marks compared with specimens from India (including the holotype): yellow frons, black patch surrounding the ocelli, weakly extending below, the occipital area entirely yellow, yellow pronotum, narrow, basal black band tergites. Morever, the Vietnamese specimen has basally polished and impunctate tergites 6–7 and the hind wing with six hamuli (versus five in the holotype).
