Distribution:—Until now E. corrientina was considered endemic to the Paraguayan Cerrado (WCSP 2015). The current records from Brazil are located in or around Mineiros in the state of Goiás.
Habitat:—In Brazil, Eugenia corrientina grows in the campo sujo (shrubby grassland), between 700– 850 m.
Notes:— Eugenia corrientina is distinct by its discolorous leaves, with the adaxial surface blackish and the abaxial one cupreous when dry with numerous prominent glands and usually well developed raceme-like inflorescences.
