Original name: Belba minuta Banks, 1895 ( Marshall et al. 1987)
Combination: Oribata minuta (Banks, 1895) ; ( Banks 1904).
Synonymy: Oribata perolata Banks, 1909 : ( Marshall et al. 1987), Oppia perolata ( Banks, 1909) : ( Norton 1979b).
Geographic Location: ON: Guelph ( Banks 1909); Sudbury (St. John et al. 2002).
Habitat: mixed deciduous coniferous forest litter, White birch and Trembling aspen litter; corn stubble.
Distribution: Nearctic.
Remarks: Subías (2004) considered this name a junior synonym of Oppia nitens , but we retain it herein, pending further studies.
