Length: 17.0–18.0 mm; width: 7.0 mm. Habitus as in Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 4 .

Diagnosis. Large sized; head, pronotum, underside of head, metepimeron, tibiae and tarsi of legs, antennae and margins of elytra dark brown, majority part of elytra, underside, femora and coxae of legs, palps yellowish brown; elytral marking from base to apex along suture, anchoreaform, widest at base, then gradually contracted backwards, wider at middle, then trapped towards apex; strongly shiny, glabrous on disc, without wrinkle or puncture, palps normally subcylindrical, ligula wide, 6-setose; antennae short, extending only at shoulders of elytra; pronotum with lateral expanded margin glabrous and smooth, border unclear, slightly reflexed; elytra elongate-ovate, apex concavely truncated, outer angle distinct; elytral intervals 3 with two setiferous pores, located near base (close to stria 3) and subapex (closed to stria 2) respectively; fore tibia stout, outer apical angle distinct, somewhat rectangular; hind tibial spurs long and sharp, claws pectinate, hind tarsomere 4 bilobed; prosternal process unbordered at apex, abdominal ventrite VII slightly emarginated in median portion of apical margin in male; male genitalia very similar to that of H. lateralis maindroni ( Figs. 3–4 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ).
