4. Euconnus ranchoi Franz View in CoL
Euconnus ranchoi Franz 1988a: 74 View in CoL , fig. 17.
Euconnus ranchoensis O’Keefe View in CoL , new name, for E. ranchoi Franz, 1989:43 View in CoL . Etymology: The name was derived from Rancho Grande, the type locality. Franz described the senior E. ranchoi View in CoL based on a single male collected from Parque Nacional Rancho Grande near Maracay, Venezuela ( Franz 1988a:74), and the junior E. ranchoi View in CoL based on a single male collected from the same locality ( Franz 1989:43). The senior E. ranchoi View in CoL is 0.90 mm long and 0.34 mm wide, has a 3segmented antennal club, has two large fovea at the base of the pronotum, and has long, slender parameres ( Franz 1988a:76, fig. 17). The junior E. ranchoi View in CoL is 2.00 mm long and 0.75 mm wide, has a 4segmented antennal club, has four pits at the base of the pronotum, and the parameres are not distinguishable ( Franz 1989: 59, fig. 81). I propose E. ranchoensis View in CoL as a replacement name for E. ranchoi Franz, 1989 View in CoL .
