Type locality.

Merchantville, New Jersey, USA; stratum: uncertain [likely Navesink Formation]; age: Cretaceous.

Type material.

Syntypes, ANSP IP289, 1 shell, ANSP IP19702, 1 shell (as “type” in Whitfield 1892: 163, pl. 20, figs 3-4; Richards 1968: 108; Richards and Ramsdell 1962: 93).
