COMMENTS: In the original description, Chapman (1912: 157) gave the AMNH number of the type and mentioned that he had two additional specimens from the type locality and 19 specimens from Laguneta and Santa Isabel. Of these, the two paratypes from Cerro Munchique are AMNH 109903 About AMNH and 109904. There were only 17 specimens cataloged from Laguneta and Santa Isabel ; these paratypes are AMNH 112522–112538 About AMNH . AMNH 112524 About AMNH , 112529 About AMNH , 112531 About AMNH , and 112533 were exchanged with Outram Bangs, whose collection is now in MCZ. I did not find AMNH 112528 About AMNH or 112538 .

Hellmayr (1934: 248) noted that Todd’s name solitarius was published in May 1912, whereas Chapman’s name pallidipectus was not published until July 1912.
