( Figs. 27–29 View FIGURES 27 – 29 , 50–55 View FIGURES 50 – 55 )

Diagnosis. This species is similar to P. muelleri in general appearance and male genitalia, but it can be distinguished from the latter as follows: pronotum without black spots, red elytra with four dark spots, spot 2 placed on anterior margin of second white–yellow spot ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 27 – 29 ). The penis guide in ventral view and spermatheca are also distinctly different ( Figs. 53, 55 View FIGURES 50 – 55 ).

Description. TL: 2.50–4.08mm, TW: 2.08–3.25mm, TH: 1.25–2.17mm, TL/TW: 1.20–1.26; PL/PW: 0.47– 0.49; EL/EW: 1.02–1.03.

Head red brown with eyes silver gray. Pronotum red brown, anterior corners yellow. Scutellum dark red brown. Ground color of elytra red, with two large yellow spots and each elytron with four dark spots, spot 1 rounded, large, placed on humeral callus, spots 2–4 round, small, spot 2 at middle 2/3 of elytral length, spots 3 and 4 arranged transversely at 3/4 of elytral length. Underside yellow except meso- and metasterna red brown.

Body medium to large, broadly oval, moderately convex, shining and glabrous ( Figs. 27–29 View FIGURES 27 – 29 ). Head comparatively small, width 0.38X elytral width (HW/EW=2.62); punctures on frons moderately large, separated by 0.5– 1.0X their diameter, with golden setae in punctures; eyes small, broadly oval, widest interocular distance 0.62X width of head ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 27 – 29 ). Pronotum 0.64X elytral width (PW/EW=1: 1.57), pronotal punctures fine, similar to those on head, separated by 0.5–1.5X their diameter. Punctures on elytra slightly larger than those on head, separated by 0.3–1.0X their diameter. Surface of pro- and mesosterna smooth and glabrous, with several hairs. Punctures on metasternum fine, 1.0–4.0X their diameter, with short setae in punctures.

Male genitalia: Penis long, slender, penis capsule with a short outer process and a long inner one, apex simple, pointed ( Figs. 50–51 View FIGURES 50 – 55 ); penis guide in lateral view stout, subparallel at basal 3/4, then gradually tapering to apex, apex pointed ( Fig. 52 View FIGURES 50 – 55 ); parameres slender, arcuate, sparsely setose at apex, slightly longer than penis guide; penis guide in ventral view short and stout, widest at basal 5/6, slightly narrowed at base, at its widest 1.38X basal width, apex rounded ( Fig. 53 View FIGURES 50 – 55 ).

Female genitalia: Coxites elongate, narrow, 7X as long as wide, tapering to blunt apices, outer and inner margin subtruncate, each with long terminal setae ( Fig. 54 View FIGURES 50 – 55 ); spermatheca with a subrounded nodulus and a slender cornu ( Fig. 55 View FIGURES 50 – 55 ).
