Abstract. A new genus, Spinagonalia , and new species, S. rubrovitta , are described and illustrated from Southern Brazil. Specimens of the new species were collected on citrus trees and grapevines. The new genus can be distinguished from other Neotropical Cicadellinae by the anal tube segment X with a pair of basal ventrolateral processes, which are acute and curved posteriorly.
