Definition
Cyamoninae with skeleton consisting of a basal mass of polyactine spicules of which one or more cladi are spined or rugose when mature, supporting a plumose choanosomal skeletal arrangement of single or columnar groups of strongyles, styles or subtylostyles, the last two with ends pointed outwards, protruding into the ectosomal region. Additional longer and shorter thin styles may be present in peripheral regions (e.g., Modified from Van Soest et al. 2012, changes are in bold).
